The Climate Fresk is a science-based workshop that aims to educate and raise awareness about climate change worldwide. Based on the IPCC report, it explains how and why the climate changes at the current pace and the consequences of its disruption.

Methodology
Card-Game Based; with 42 cards each detailing one aspect of climate change, going from the causes and its consequences (back on humanity)
Happens in 3 main phases;
Head (Knowledge - Feed the mind)
Heart (Emotions/Reflections - to make it also personal)
Hands (Actions - curated to clients’ objectives)
Data figures from IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change); These are the same reports that inform global political and economic decision-making at the highest level.
Workshop Flow / Agenda
Introductions & Icebreakers (15mins)
Climate Fresk Card-game (80 mins)
Emotions & Creativity segment (20 mins)
Context-Setting (timing varies between 15-30mins): Depending on company if they would like to present their company context/sustainability strategy here)
Brainstorming/Ideation (timing varies between 30mins, 45mins, 60 mins or longer): Based on decided objectives & complexity of exercise
Option A: Organisational Focused
Integrate climate risks and opportunities
Identify key target areas in your organisation that can help build climate resilience, mitigate risks, raise employee awareness and take actions at both individual and organisational levels.
Identify key stakeholders involved
Take it further: Draft a sustainability roadmap
Option B: Individual/Employee Focused
Basic: What can they do at a personal level to reduce their carbon footprint and/or take community/office action
Advanced: What can employees do within their job functions/teams to contribute to sustainability as a larger organisation?
Effectiveness
Through a shared understanding of the mechanisms at work, Climate Fresk enables both individuals and organisations to have an open and positive conversation about climate solutions.
Participants leave the workshop having taken collaborative efforts with each other to build the cards, and are well equipped to implement the climate actions that they have identified.
Workshop Outcomes
Levels all participants on the same knowledge level about climate change to provide a good basis for contextualisation as well as motivating and empowering change from within. Gain comprehensive insights into climate change and its complexities - both scientifically and socially. Make explicit links to how climate change affects businesses and your industry specifically.
